Dr. Malachi O’Brien, a pastor and prominent Christian leader, shares his thoughts with Charisma News’ John Matarazzo, calling the victory “a prophetic fulfillment” and saying that the energy in the room feels “electric.”
O’Brien, speaking live from the event, describes an atmosphere of both celebration and reverence as supporters await the official confirmation of Trump’s re-election. “Every time they’re about ready to make a new announcement, people go silent, and then they cheer,” O’Brien says. “We feel like in the room right now we’re on the brink of prophetic fulfillment.”

Throughout the interview, O’Brien emphasizes that Trump’s victory is about more than politics for many who have prayed for this moment. He describes a room filled with supporters who are worshiping, praying and celebrating together. “There are so many believers here. It’s amazing… I feel, honestly, like the presence of God is here with us,” he says.
As Matarazzo mentions, states across the country have been deciding on significant issues, with some passing amendments concerning abortion. O’Brien reflects on these moments as victories for the unborn and an answer to prayers: “We’re watching God answer the prayers of His people all across the nation… Amendment 4 in Florida was a big one.” He goes on to note that similar measures across the country signal a national shift, saying, “God’s people fasting and praying works, and taking part in government makes a difference.”
O’Brien is clear that this win signals something larger than a political moment. For him, it’s a call to spiritual awakening across the country, and he feels that “God is doing a thousand things, and we maybe see three or four right now.” He describes “mercy drops” of revival happening in places like college campuses nationwide, with students and churches witnessing “a move of God in their student body.”
As Matarazzo points out that many Americans are calling for unity in a divided nation, O’Brien echoes this sentiment, encouraging believers to lead by example in bridging the divides that exist. “We don’t gloat. We can be grateful but not prideful,” O’Brien says. “We need to take the Gospel to the streets, to expect signs and wonders. If he [Trump] wins tonight… we’re living in a modern signs and wonders moment.”
Yet even as the news of Trump’s historic comeback spread across the nation, O’Brien urges Christians not to view Trump’s victory as an endpoint but as a beginning. “Just because we get one outcome, prayer does not stop tonight,” he says, emphasizing the ongoing call to serve and to seek revival in the nation.
