So many people walk through life feeling unworthy—burdened by failures, regrets and the belief that they are not good enough for God. Some may even fear that He is looking down on them with disappointment or judgment. But that is not the heart of God.

Rabbi Kirt Schneider recently shared a verse that reveals the true nature of God’s love: “Just as a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him. For He Himself knows our frame. He is mindful that we are but dust,” (Ps. 103:13-14).

This verse is a powerful reminder of God’s tenderness toward us. Rabbi Schneider calls it one that should “melt our hearts.” He goes on to say, “I don’t know how you could not be touched by this.”

The Bible is clear that God is not waiting for us to fail so He can condemn us. Rather, He understands our weaknesses. “He knows how weak we are. He knows how incompetent and impotent we are without His grace and He’s mindful of that. He remembers that. So when He looks at us, rather than judging us, He has compassion for us.”

This truth is echoed throughout Scripture. In John 3:17, Jesus Himself said, “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.” Rabbi Schneider affirms this, saying, “The Father has not sent the Son in the world to judge the world but to save the world.”

No matter where you are today—whether struggling with sin, doubt or hardship—God sees you, loves you and desires to lift you up. The Bible urges us to turn to Him: “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved,” (Rom. 10:13). Rabbi Schneider encourages us to do just that:

“Just lift your hands up to Yahweh and say, ‘Father, God…save me. Thank You that You love me. Thank You that You don’t judge me. I need You, Lord. Thank You for Your compassion. Help me.”

God’s love is not earned by our perfection—it is given freely through His grace. He is compassionate, patient and faithful to those who seek Him. That is the unshakable truth of Scripture, and perhaps the most freeing truth of all.
