In a stirring prophetic conversation with Taylor Welch, Pastor Mike Signorelli shared urgent insights into the current state of the prophetic movement and what it means to walk in true spiritual authority.
“There’s a lot of prophets in America specifically who have the gift of prophecy, but they don’t have it submitted to the Holy Spirit,” Signorelli warns. “They can see real things…but we have to be real careful.”

Rather than identifying as a prophet, Signorelli says, “I regard myself as a watchman…in a prophetic and apostolic port.” From his base in New York City, he sees his role as narrating what God reveals in the spiritual gateway of the nation.
He explains, “Knowing something and seeing something is not synonymous with saying something…God may have given you permission to observe but not given you permission to speak.”
As a pastor of a multi-campus church, Signorelli emphasizes the importance of spiritual hierarchy and biblical authority, warning that “social media has convinced a lot of people that they are in a higher realm of authority than they truly are.”
His prophetic ministry, he says, has been cultivated in the secret place. “Some of those major global prophetic words were just me doing what all Christians should do…basic Christian disciplines like average Christian disciplines will produce above average opportunities.”
Signorelli also issued strong cautions to believers about discerning true prophecy. “If you follow prophets who do not actively encourage their audience to discern what they’re saying…that’s a red flag.” He also pointed to monetary motives as another warning sign: “Are they a for-profit prophet?”
Looking to the church’s future, Signorelli believes the greatest threat isn’t witchcraft or secularism—but counterfeit Christianity. “I believe it’s false light versus true light…the difference between glowing and burning is sacrifice.”
“There’s a lot of Christians that are glowing right now, not burning,” he says. “The Lord’s saying, ‘You’re both emitting light, but only one of you is emitting a fragrance.’”
/**/In a prophetic charge to the church, he declares: “The Lord’s trying to get to people: Will you stop glowing and start burning?”
Ultimately, Signorelli urges believers to embrace sacrifice over performance. “I decrease so that He increases. I get out of the way so He can have His way.”
