The Robertson family continues to mourn the loss of the family’s beloved patriarch, Phil Robertson. The family confirmed on Sunday, May 25, that the “Duck Dynasty” star passed away. Now, as they celebrate the life of Phil, his son, Willie Robertson, and granddaughter, Sadie Robertson Huff, are sharing some of his final words.

In a post on Instagram, Willie shared these special words from Phil.
The last words he said to me as I leaned down over his weakened body was “You’re my brother”. It made total sense to me. He always told me we were coworkers in the Kingdom of God. Maybe that’s why I always just called him Phil. Not sure if he is up in Heaven now doing his own dance moves for our Father.
Phil, I love you and already miss you. Thank you for raising me the right way and teaching me the most important lesson to prepare me for the day you passed on. Not sure how people deal with loss without the Lord. We may be wrong about all this….but I doubt it! Sleep well Dad, can’t wait to see you.
Willie also shared fond memories of his father, and how above all else, Phil was the same person at all times, completely focused on the Lord.
He taught me many things in life and most without ever saying a word. I watched him, and knew he had figured out so many things. Most importantly, he taught me the value of sharing my faith with others. He was the Real Deal, the same on Sundays as Fridays. Most of our conversations were not about hunting or business, but about sharing the Gospel.
I was never more proud that when I printed my book, Gospeler, for him to read first. I wanted him to know what he had passed down to me. He read it in one sitting and said, “That’s the best explanation of the Good News I have ever read…and you were so nice about it!” That made me laugh because sometimes he would forget about the nice part.
In a separate post, Sadie Robertson also gave tribute to her grandfather, along with the Bible verse she finds most fitting to describe Phil’s departure from earth to heaven.

As I was sitting with Papaw Phil today, I thought about this verse… he has already experienced this on earth—going from dead to alive by the power of Christ!
It was his testimony that changed his life, our families life, and thousands of others. Now he is experiencing it in the fullness. Fully alive in Christ. The new has come.
One of the last things he said to me was “full strength ahead!” Amen!
