2 Corinthians 3:1-18 When I look in the mirror daily I notice I am aging. Each day there seem to be more wrinkles and brown spots. There is nothing I can do to stop the aging process. I cannot stop the clock from ticking. There is a mirror, however, I can look into, and I can be changed. I will not become more beautiful on the outside, but I will be more beautiful on the inside. This mirror is God’s Word. As I look into this mirror I behold the glory of God, and that glory is contagious.

The image I behold in the mirror of God’s Word is what I am destined to look like. The day will come when I will look like Jesus. No, I will not become Jesus. I will still be a woman, but the Scriptures promise that when I see Him I will be like Him. When I went to India I met a young man who I had a very hard time loving. He was manipulative, and this is something I hate. One day I told the Lord, “I’m looking forward to heaven, but if this young pastor is in heaven, I’d rather not see him.” Then I heard with my spiritual ears these words: “Oh, you will love being with this young man because he will be just like Me.” I knew this was the Lord, and I knew what He said was true. If there are people you have a hard time loving here on earth, you can look forward to seeing them in heaven because they will be just like Jesus.

Remember the witch in the fairy tale who said, “Mirror, mirror on the wall. Tell me who is the fairest of all.” We know who is the fairest of all. Jesus Christ is the fairest of ten thousand. He is the Lily of the Valley and the Bright and Morning Star. The good news is I don’t have to wait till I get to heaven to be more like Jesus. Each day I live and walk in the Spirit I am being conformed to His very image. As Christians we are all predestined to be conformed to the image of Jesus Christ. As we look daily into the mirror of His Word, we are changed from glory to glory. Paul says, “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord” (v. 18).

All that remains to be said is GLORY!

Thank You, Lord, for the promise that when I see You I will be like You. Help me to daily cooperate with the Holy Spirit as He changes me from glory to glory.
