2 Corinthians 4:13-5:11 The spirit of faith always causes us to speak. Faith is active, and faith is never silent. When faith is operative in our lives, we will speak about our faith to others. Paul says the following about the spirit of faith: “We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak, knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you” (2 Cor. 4:13-14, KJV).

In his letter to the Romans, Paul quotes again a scripture from the writings of David. Paul writes, “But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved” (Rom. 10:8-9, KJV).

The scripture Paul referred to in both of these passages is found in Psalm 116:10. David says, “I believed, therefore I spoke.”

The word of faith we all need to speak is that Jesus Christ is Lord. He lived; He died; He took away our sins; He was raised from the dead and now lives forever. This is the gospel in a nutshell. Every believer possesses these words of faith. The question is, Will we be diligent to release these words of faith to others?

If we believe that our faith is personal and something we do not want to share with others, I would question the faith we are claiming. True faith demands a verbal expression, “Go and tell!”

Who will you tell today?
