Missionary Makes Jesus Fashionable With Debut Book ‘Catwalk to Christ’

Faytene and Robert John Grasseschi

He has been splashed on billboards and in high-profile ads from Hong Kong to New York, but when Robert John Grasseschi encountered Jesus Christ, his life changed forever.

The former fashion model, who could also hit three-pointers and dunk a basketball like a pro, aims to make Jesus Christ fashionable through his new book The Catwalk to Christ. Grasseschi now hopes to inspire and teach a new generation of models, actors, artists and athletes about the radical love and grace of Jesus.

“I’ve had worldly success in fashion modeling as well as on the basketball court as a player and a coach, but nothing gave my life true meaning until that love encounter from heaven,” says Grasseschi. “I pray that my personal testimony touches people’s hearts and lives in unexpected and poignant ways.”

He desires to break misconception about Jesus in the world of entertainment, sports and high fashion. “The message has nothing to do with religion, but everything to do with a personal relationship. Christ is so in love with everyone, no matter where they are at in their lives. The understanding of God’s unconditional love is what motivates me to live for Him.”

While sharing a gritty, temptation-strewn path to faith in Christ, this easy-to-read book also tackles highly personal, recurring issues of the soul, such as a son’s need for a father’s approval. Grasseschi is heart-breakingly honest, conveying an inward struggle that is common to people.

This former model has experienced tragedy and heartache, just as the reader will discover in the opening pages of The Catwalk to Christ. But he ends up triumphant and full of a magnetic faith through Christ.

“God totally transformed my life, when I was baptized with the Holy Spirit, so the least I can do now is tell people about this baptism of love.”

Grasseschi adds, “I have such a heart for the entertainment and athletic industry because that is where I have spent the majority of my life and I now understand how much Father God loves those communities. I was the last person that anyone thought would be telling people about God’s unconditional love. If God can transform me, he can transform anyone.”

Grasseschi is now in full-time ministry as a self-described “model missionary” and is taking the first steps of turning the The Catwalk to Christ book into a movie. He serves alongside his wife, Faytene Grasseschi (Kryskow) in ministry.
