While my daughter was going through college, I wrote her letters each day for guidance, encouragement and connection. These letters, of course, came straight from the heart.
They display the love of a father for a child. Unbeknownst to me, she shared these letters with some of her classmates. What she found was that the words of a loving father helped them feel encouragement and love as well.
Therefore, with my daughter’s permission, I am sharing these words of love, encouragement and guidance with you so that you too may be affected and take them as words meant for you, because you are a child of God who is worthy of praise, love and encouragement. So read over these two letters and apply them to your own situation.

I hope you’re experiencing to the fullest extent this one and only awesome day made just for you by the King of kings, our God! If not, perk up. He is all over this day!
I’d like to share with you a word I made up to explain something I have seen but often misunderstood. When a person is labeled confident, they can be misperceived as arrogant, distant, a know-it-all and other negative labels, and sometimes deservedly so.
However, I have met people who are very capable and informed on a subject but have true humility and a servant’s heart. So I made up a word, “Godfident.”
A Godfident person is confident in God and has a humble spirit of service combined with a spirit of excellence and thoroughness that allows them to excel way beyond their peers in any field they are planted in. You will meet both people. Their heart and how they relate to others are earmarks as to which is in your presence. I honestly pray you are a Godfident woman as you pursue the dreams God has placed in your heart.

Today I want to talk about the side of wisdom that can be challenging for some who have it as a gift. Every gift has to be balanced in our life, even the gift of wisdom.
Wisdom can often synthesize the facts, the motives and circumstances of a person rather quickly. It also applies principles to and gives insight to those who ask.
However, wisdom can be like a sword, and when used correctly, it can heal and protect. However, when carried without a case to surround it, it can injure the holder or those around.
Grace and mercy covering wisdom are best for everyone. People are people. Not all want wisdom, healing or protection. Allow people to be where they actually are in their journey (not where you wish they would be).
I am powerless to help anyone who doesn’t want help, and so are you, but you don’t need to judge them. Instead, give grace and mercy and accept them for who they are, and you won’t get stuck when they don’t apply your gift to their life.
