Dr. Steve Greene’s 5 Things I Heard Last Week

The 5 Things I Heard Last Week Newsletter will often be from something Dr. Greene has read, and other times the story will come from a recent podcast that he hasn’t already covered. It’s filled with resources and clickable content.

1. I heard intimacy explained in a unique way:
“Into me, you see.”

This made me consider how much I allow other people to see in me.
Is transparency a concept or a way of life?

2. Accountability partners are only as good as our openness to share.
It’s much better to seek a vulnerability partner (VP). A true VP in your life is someone with whom you share things you wouldn’t share with anyone else.
I wonder if I am totally vulnerable in even my prayer life?

3. I learned that D.L Moody felt guilty if, before he began to pray, he heard the blacksmith hammering.

There’s so much to learn from this simple note.
The Holy Spirit convicts us in so many ways. We need only seek God’s best and He will show us.

4. I heard that a poem perfectly memorized is a poem too easily recited.

I didn’t know that recitation is required to be difficult.

I wonder if this applies to a rote recitation of your favorite Scripture? Does Psalm 23 still penetrate you with the Shepherd’s wisdom?

5. I heard Angela Donadio play an amazing composition of “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Claire de Lune.”
Here’s a link to her YouTube track. I hope this helps you enter into a time of worship: Angela Donadio Piano

Blessings to you as you live an abundant life.
