What comforting words these were to those that had spent years of captivity in Babylon. Maybe you feel like a person in chains right now. You may be looking at everything around you and thinking, How did all of this happen? Jesus, just get me out of here — not someday but right now! Jesus is coming soon but He wants you to be prepared. The Fall Feasts of the Lord are showing you right now what is about to happen; they are shadows of things to come. Get ready because you don’t want to miss the greatest celebration of all time.
Remember the parable of the ten virgins? Although they all had their lamps, they weren’t all ready. The ones not prepared had other priorities. They were distracted and didn’t have their lamps ready. Frantically they tried to get ready but they ran out of time. They missed the celebration. You don’t want to miss this party. Open your ears to hear the blast of the shofar; see and read the signs of the times; prepare your heart; get your life in order. Serve God with all of your heart and expect Jesus’ return soon. Keep your light burning brightly and your oil ready and full. Be ready for the Messiah, for the bridegroom comes. {eoa}
