God desires for our generosity to be generational. We must avoid conditional generosity.
As the Lord unconditionally loves us, we must love to be generous without conditions. Conditional generosity with contingencies violates the purity of our purpose to give. We must weigh our motives in giving. The Lord warns us in His Word that our motives must be true to receive His generous gifts.
Money is not the only form of generosity. Generosity is giving from what we have to help someone else. Tithing is never an act of generosity; it is an act of obedience.
When we give of our finances to the church, we are extending generosity to anyone who is blessed through the church. The Bible tells us that where your treasures are, there your heart will be also. Giving generously to help others is an example of laying up treasures in heaven.
When we sow sparingly, we will never reap generously. What we give will come back: pressed down, shaken together and running over.
Try being radically generous and expect to receive radically. Money is only one small aspect of being generous. Generous giving of our talents, time and love may be the greatest gifts we will ever extend to someone else.
Today is the day to start generational generosity in your family. It must begin with us. God established generational generosity from the beginning of time. He generously gave this earth to His people so they would be generous to each other.
God so loved the world that He gave; we must love God so much that we will give. {eoa}
