A new theory making waves online has reignited the age-old question: where was the Garden of Eden? While many have long believed it was located in Mesopotamia—between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers—a recent study suggests something far more surprising. According to this theory, Eden may have been in Egypt, right near the Great Pyramid of Giza.

In a new video by Off the Kirb Ministries, this theory is investigated deeply to see what truth or flaws may be held in this viewpoint. Dr. Borisoff’s idea comes from a published a peer-reviewed paper that blends biblical texts, ancient maps and modern geographic analysis. The energy patterns, he notes, branch out in a tree-like structure—symbolic, perhaps, of the tree of life described in Genesis.

Another potential theory by Juris Zarins is that the Garden of Eden lies near the four rivers mentioned in Genesis—particularly the Tigris and Euphrates.

Other scholars have offered alternate ideas. Author Pete Van Dyke suggests Eden exists in a spiritual “cosmic east,” beyond our physical world. Joel Kramer points to Saudi Arabia’s gold-rich land as the biblical Havilah, while David Rohl favors the idea that Eden was in the location of ancient Persia.

Yet for all the research and speculation, one truth remains: Eden was more than a location—it was a place of perfect communion with God. When sin entered the world, that fellowship was lost. But through Jesus Christ, the “last Adam,” the way back has been opened. By His death and resurrection, He tore the veil and made access to God possible again. So perhaps the better question isn’t where Eden was—but who can lead us back. And the answer is Jesus.

In the end, while the location of Eden may remain a mystery debated by scholars and dreamers alike, its true significance lies beyond geography. Eden represents the intimacy humanity once had with God—and the separation that came through sin. Yet the beauty of the gospel is this: what was lost in the first garden is restored through Christ. The longing to return to paradise is really a longing for Him. And through Jesus, the way back isn’t hidden or guarded—it’s wide open, marked by grace and available to all who believe.
