Standing in the shadow of St. Peter’s Basilica just a day after the death of Pope Francis, Pastor Mike Signorelli of V1 Church delivered a thunderous prophetic word that stirred thousands across social media.
“The Pope has died, but while the world is watching a funeral, heaven is sounding a war cry,” Signorelli announced. “This is one of the most important messages that I’ve released in a very long time.”
In what he called a “prophetic pivot” moment for the church, Signorelli declared a transition from the old guard of spiritual leadership to a new apostolic age. “I’m not here to mourn tradition. I’m here to announce a transition,” he said. “For generations, the shepherds have ruled… but when a shepherd dies, a true apostle arises.”
The vision that fueled Signorelli’s message was stark: “I saw [pastors and ministers] picking flesh out of their teeth,” he recounted. “The Lord said, ‘This is the flesh of people they were supposed to faithfully care for, but instead they actually have consumed them.’”

Signorelli did not limit his rebuke to Catholicism. He called out all forms of church leadership that he believes have “imprisoned” believers instead of equipping them for kingdom work. “God is dismantling everything that kept His people passive,” he said. “We’re moving past just entertaining crowds into equipping armies.”
Referencing a prophecy by Bob Jones about the Kansas City Chief’s winning the Super Bowl as heralding the rise of “apostolic chiefs,” Signorelli extended that word globally. “With the Pope’s death, another layer is being revealed. The religious system is shaking. The apostolic age is awakening.”
“The Mantle Never Dies With the Man”
Throughout the broadcast, Signorelli declared that a new kind of leader is arising—one concerned not with control, but commissioning. “Not those who collect money just for themselves, but those who are actually generous and releasing God’s people,” he said. “Not those who entertain crowds, but those who equip armies.”
From a biblical standpoint, Signorelli rooted his declarations in Ephesians and the New Testament five-fold ministry. “Jesus Christ himself has given us apostles, prophets, teachers, evangelists and shepherds,” he declared. “Pastors who do everything was never the biblical model.”
Signorelli invoked both Peter and Paul—apostles martyred in Rome—as he addressed the structure behind him. “Jesus said, ‘Upon this rock, I will establish my church, and not even the gates of hell will prevail against it,’” he said. “But here in Rome, they made structures with physical stones, not living stones.”
A Global Army Rising
“From Rome to your city, from this cobblestone to your living room,” Signorelli declared, “I declare that the true apostolic mantle is being released and true apostles are rising. The church is mobilizing. Heaven is not mourning—it’s marching.”
The livestream took on a revival tone as Signorelli prayed over viewers, claiming healing, deliverance and an outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
“Come on. The Holy Spirit. Many of you are going to feel like almost a drunkenness because you’re going to receive the Holy Spirit like a new wine,” he said. “From the top of your head to the very soles of your feet—be completely and utterly filled with the Holy Spirit right now.”
“Rome Matters”
While acknowledging his Catholic heritage, Signorelli emphasized his belief that Rome must be spiritually reclaimed. “Rome is a stronghold. Rome matters,” he said. “If Rome goes into revival, the world goes into revival.”
He closed the prophetic message with a challenge.
“We’re going to build like Christ is never coming back, but we’re going to evangelize like He’s coming back tonight. Zeal for God’s house consumes me.”
Final Declaration
“The mantle never dies with the man,” Signorelli stated with conviction. “There’s been a false mantle walking around the Vatican… but the true mantle is in the earth. I believe it’s time for the apostolic chiefs to arise.”
With the Basilica behind him and believers watching around the world, Signorelli declared, “Out of the ashes of the religions and traditions of men… the revival is going to rise.”
