It’s the debate that keeps on keeping on in Christian communities: Is the earth flat or is it a globe?
In a reaction video to Timothy Alberino and Taylor Welch’s discussion on this topic, Alexander Pagani provided key insights on what believers should know about the shape of the earth.

The flat earth movement, particularly among Christians, has taken on the trappings of a belief system so intertwined with faith that it’s becoming indistinguishable from theology itself. However, the noise from the other side has also been quite hostile to those who believe the earth is flat.
Alexander Pagani expressed concern over this debate and how it has morphed into a “religious creed.” He likened it to the phenomenon of deliverance—important but secondary to the issue of salvation. He noted how social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram and YouTube have amplified and radicalized the discussion.
The concern pointed out is not the curiosity itself, but the way in which a spherical versus flat earth belief has become embedded into the very framework of Christian belief for some, not wanting to fellowship with Christians who disagree.
“You don’t break away from the fellowship of the saints,” Pagani says. “It’s not worth dividing over. And it’s not worth becoming dogmatic and personal bias…”
Ultimately, the shape of the earth should never become a stumbling block to Christian unity or a substitute for the Gospel itself. When secondary issues take center stage, the church risks losing sight of its true mission—proclaiming Christ, making disciples and walking in love. Debating cosmology may have intellectual or theological interest, but it must never come at the cost of fractured relationships, spiritual pride or misplaced zeal.

At the heart of the Christian faith is not a model of the universe, but the message of redemption through Jesus Christ. Believers must guard against elevating speculative ideas to the level of doctrine and remain anchored in the essentials of the faith.
