Under Shah Reza Pahlavi, Iran and Israel enjoyed friendly relations. But in the late 1970s the Shah was overthrown. A new and radical Iran was unleashed on the world stage. As the Sar Paras seeks to stop the end-time purposes of God concerning Israel, so the new Iran became obsessed with the nation of Israel. It established itself as Israel’s nemesis, its archenemy among the nations. It would engage in an unrelenting campaign of opposing, thwarting, and warring against the Jewish nation. Israel’s destruction, so the new radical Iran would do likewise.

As demonic spirits possess and use others as their vessels, agents, and proxies, so the Sar Paras–driven Iran would, likewise, use others as its instruments, agents, and proxies. And as demonic spirits use others to inspire terror and fear, so the radical Iran would become a terror state, sponsoring terrorism around the world. It would subsidize and facilitate terrorism, radicalism, and anti-Israel hatred in Iraq, Lebanon, Bahrain, Yemen, Pakistan, and Syria, among other nations. It would fund, train, and support the terrorist organization Hezbollah in its relentless war against the Jewish nation.
It would reach into Gaza. There, Iran would become the chief sponsor of the terrorist organization Hamas. Behind the empowering of Hamas in Gaza was the Sar Paras. Behind the smuggling of arms, the transferring of funds, and the training of troops to attack Israel was the ancient demonic Persian spirit. It was the Sar Paras that caused thousands of rockets to be launched into Israeli dwellings. And in the madness of those who invaded Israel on October 7 was the madness of the Sar Paras.
Demonic spirits seek death and destruction. So indwelt by the ancient spirit, Iran sought death and destruction and thus became a threat to the world order. It became obsessed with attaining nuclear capabilities with which it could strike other nations—particularly Israel. Massive efforts were undertaken on the part of nations in an attempt to reduce the danger Iran posed to the world. The problem was that they believed they were dealing with a nation. They were dealing with a spirit. Iran had become a unique power among the nations just as the entity that possessed it was a unique power among the spirits.
The angel sent to give Daniel the prophecy was not alone in his fight against the demonic entity. He recounted to the prophet:
And behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me.
Michael, pronounced, Me-kha-el, is here referred to as a chief prince. The angel also calls him “the great prince who stands for the children of your people.” Behind the word prince is the Hebrew word sar, the same Hebrew word in Sar Paras. So as the Sar Paras is connected to Persia, or Iran, Michael is connected to and fights for the children of Israel. He is their prince, their general, their keeper. He is the Sar Yisrael.

And so behind Iran is the Sar Paras, the Prince of Persia. And behind Israel is Michael, the Sar Yisrael, the Prince of Israel. So what would we expect of these two nations in the last days? If the two entities that stand for the two nations are battling in the spiritual realm, what, then, would we expect of the two nations? We would expect the two nations to become mortal enemies. And that is exactly what has happened. For behind the earthly realm and the events of that realm are spiritual realities, forces, and agents. And behind the conflict of Israel and Iran is the conflict of two entities, each one identified thousands of years earlier, each waging war in the angelic realm.
