A Revelation of Jesus, Not Just Prophecy

“This is a revelation of Jesus Christ,” John Bevere says with unmistakable conviction. “It’s not a revelation of things that are going to happen like bombs and plagues and everything else.”

That may surprise many who avoid the book of Revelation out of fear or confusion. But as John and his son Arden Bevere make clear in their recent podcast episode, this final book of the Bible is not merely an apocalypse, it’s a love letter from Christ to His church.

“These letters are written from Jesus personally to these seven churches,” John explains. “I have several times been reading these chapters where these letters are written … and literally wept as I felt the Holy Spirit convicting me of areas that needed to change in my life.”

A Blessing to Read and Hear

In a world where chaos and confusion dominate headlines, Revelation offers a powerful promise: “God blesses the one who reads the words of this prophecy to the church and he blesses all who listen,” John reads from Revelation 1:3. “There’s a double blessing here.”

This blessing is not just for ancient congregations in Asia Minor, but for believers today. “At any given time over the past 2,000 years, there are churches around the world that can fit into one of these seven churches,” John says. “The word of God is not bound to a time period.”

A Vision That Changes Everything

John recounts the vision given to the apostle John: “His head and his hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes were like flames of fire… His face was like the sun in all its brilliance.”

He reminds listeners that this vision is not just historical, it’s personal. “Jesus said, ‘Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father.’”

What John saw, and what every believer is promised, is nothing less than transformation: “Beloved, now we are the children of God… but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him.”

Don’t Abandon the Church

For anyone who has become comfortable with virtual sermons and personal spirituality, John offers a sobering reminder: “Jesus said when we gather together, not on YouTube, when we’re gathered together, He said, ‘There I am in the midst of them.’”

He points to Hebrews 10:25 and urges believers not to neglect assembling together, especially “as you see the day of the Lord approaching.”

“Please, don’t fall into that trap,” he pleads. “Get back in your local church where God has placed you.”

You’re Called to Endure, and Reign

Whether you’re facing personal trials or observing growing hostility toward the church worldwide, this message carries urgency. “It is appointed to us not only to believe in Jesus but also to suffer for His sake,” John says. “If we handle suffering correctly, it actually brings us closer to Him.”

“Jesus is making His children into kings and queens,” John adds. “We are going to rule and reign with Him in the millennium.”

Now Is the Time to Dive In

“Revelation is not just a prophecy, it’s a preparation,” John emphasizes. “It’s the most intimate unveiling of Jesus in the entire Bible.”

So if you’ve ever hesitated to read Revelation, let this be your wake-up call. As John declared, “This is Jesus talking, I am the Almighty One… I died, but look, I am alive forever and ever, and I hold the keys to death and the grave.”

Lift Up the Church in Prayer

As John and Arden encourage, we must also pray: for the persecuted church, for the lukewarm church, and for our own hearts. Revelation isn’t a book in the Bible to fear. It’s a call to rise, repent and return to our first love.

Read the letters. Feel the conviction. Receive the blessing.

Jesus is in the midst of His church, and He’s not done with us yet.
