On Feb. 19, 2025, Alwyn Uys released a prophetic word revealing a vision of a firm, symbolic handshake between U.S. President Donald Trump and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa. In Uys’ original vision, the handshake between Trump and Ramaphosa was more than a formal gesture—it carried a spiritual tone of seriousness, responsibility and opportunity. “Don’t mess this up,” was the message perceived—not audibly, but through body language. The vision conveyed a divine second chance for South Africa–U.S. relations, signaling a rectifying moment between the two nations. “It brought the fear of God over me,” Uys shared, “because it reveals to us God’s omniscience…He knows exactly what is going to happen.”

Drawing a parallel to 2 Kings 6:12, Uys emphasized how the Lord often reveals hidden plans to His servants, much like He did to Elisha in ancient times. The fulfillment of the handshake prophecy served as a sobering reminder that nothing remains hidden from God—not global meetings, not secret agendas not even private intentions of world leaders.
In a follow-up vision Uys received in prayer, a deeper picture was revealed—this time symbolic. He saw a fire burning beneath the land of South Africa, a prophetic metaphor indicating increased pressure and political heat in the nation. Logs fueling the fire began to smoke, and from the burning wood came worms—each worm carrying the name and face of a person in a position of authority. “The worms are coming out of the woodwork,” Uys said. These individuals, long hidden in darkness, are now being brought to the light.
Another vision followed: President Ramaphosa standing on a stage, holding a list of names. This list represented individuals in leadership facing imminent exposure and accountability. “I was not convinced the list was made public,” Uys noted, “but the list existed.” Whether private or public, the message was clear—God is initiating a cleansing.
While unsettling, these visions ultimately offer hope. “This shaking, the heat picking up, is going to be good in the end,” Uys said. “But right now, we’re in the smoke period.” Like a fire releasing smoke before it blazes with warmth and light, this time of exposure is a necessary precursor to refinement and restoration.
