In dangerous economic times like these, Christian financial expert Dexter Lyons believes if you don’t manage your money God’s way, you can find yourself in lack. He’s seen it too many times in more than 30 years in the business.
That’s why, as adviser to The Issachar Fund, he shows people how to steward their money according to God’s Word with the goal of living the abundant life Jesus came to bring believers. It’s his calling, Lyons told Dr. Steve Greene on a recent episode of Greenelines, to teach other believers what he has learned.

“While I was at a kingdom adviser conference in February 2019, another brother asked me if I was a Christian money manager, and I said yes,” Lyons says. “Then he asked me if my fund was a BRI fund, which he said stood for ‘biblically responsible investing.’ I said no. And he said, ‘Why not?’ I didn’t have a good answer for him. But immediately God touched my heart.
“This guy gave a presentation on his new software program that he was launching, and it basically would tell you if your company is BRI compliant or not,” Lyons says. “Immediately a light bulb went on, and I said that I would make my company, the Issachar Fund, BRI compliant. It simply changed my perspective.
“Previously, I didn’t have a way to screen out stocks or funds that were not BRI compliant,” he says. “At the end of last year, I had like $11 or $12 million in assets under management. As we speak, it’s up over $45 million. So, it seems God has really blessed the Issachar Fund. And I really believe it’s because He is just wanting to show me His favor, what He can do.
“Now that I’m in compliance, I’m investing in things that agree with His biblical principles,” Lyons says. “I’m not investing in companies that go against the Bible, like pornography and abortion. Companies that support those types of nonbiblical values, I just exclude. I’m in a season of blessing right now. I believe God is smiling on me and on the Issachar Fund. I thank the Lord, my Savior, Jesus Christ, for that.”
