One of the first signs of Christian maturity is how we improve our navigation in troubled waters. Things don’t always get easier, but because of Jesus, our light shines brighter on the path forward.

As we grow stronger in Him, we focus more on the troubled waters of others. We help others find light in their darkness.

Jesus spoke to them, saying “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life” (John 8:12).

We don’t need to work at shining our light. We need only to yield to the Holy Spirit. Our charge is to remain in the light.

We need no other source of light. “Some trust in chariots,” but we trust in our one source of light.
