Plant Your Feet in Your Calling

I heard a story this week about a man very near the point of quitting his pastorate. Nothing he did for over a couple of years seemed to make a difference.

The Lord directed the man to buy a cemetery plot for him and his wife. The man found the perfect place for himself and his wife.

I’m guessing the man slept with one eye open.

Time passed and the man still had a heartbeat.

But he also noticed that things were going so much better in his church. Every program was growing, and he sensed people really wanted him around.

Perhaps it was the commitment he made to a burial place near his work. It took two cemetery plots for the man to plant his feet in his calling.

Sometimes, God just wants us to stay put.
