Billy Graham may not be preaching the gospel in jam-packed stadiums anymore, but thanks to digital technology generations to come can still hear his fiery messages online—and on demand.
On the eve of the evangelist’s 93rd birthday, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association is releasing 1,600-plus messages from Graham’s more than six decades of ministry.
“Mr. Graham’s messages have inspired millions around the world and will continue to do so with the release of this audio library,” says Ken Barun, senior vice president of communications for BGEA.
“With more than 2 billion users on the Internet, his messages can now be accessed by many more for easy listening and sharing,” Barun continues. “Our ultimate goal is to continue Billy’s mission of using whatever means possible to spread the gospel.”
About 900 of the audio files are from Billy Graham Crusades. Audio is also available from key messages, including addresses from events ranging from the Amsterdam 1986 global evangelistic summit to Graham’s final crusade in 2005, as well as comments of historical importance.
The database of searchable audio messages will stream online at www.billygraham.org. If you search for “natural disasters,” for example, you’ll find a quote from Graham during his visit to the coast of South Carolina after Hurricane Hugo struck in 1989: “What a great thing it is going to be when we can look for no more hurricanes and no more earthquakes in this world and that will happen. It is coming. We have a great hope in Christ. Those of us that have put our faith in Him know that our sins have been forgiven, know that we’re going to heaven and know that we are going to participate in God’s rebuilding of the earth.”
