Former LGBTQ Community Members Gather in DC to Celebrate Their Freedom

The Freedom March‘s national event is this month in Washington, D.C. Freedom March is a gathering of former LGBTQ individuals to share their testimonies of deliverance through Jesus Christ and has continued to gather since its initial meeting in 2018.

This year’s national event will include live worship, testimonies, prayer and the march. The event will take place Saturday, June 11 at the Sylvan Theater from 1-5 p.m. At around 4 p.m., celebrants will march from the Sylvan Theater to the Lincoln Memorial.

“I am so excited for this year’s national Freedom March,” says Freedom March founder and leader Jeffrey McCall. “We are so humbled to gather in our nation’s capital uplifting the name of Jesus Christ. I continue to be amazed by how the march has grown and how it has created a safe place for former LGBTQ members to gather.

“I never foresaw how the Freedom March attendees would become such a close family of believers,” he adds. “We love each other and we love our common goal of sharing Jesus’ sacrifice and love to the LGBTQ community. We would love the body of Christ to come out and hear these amazing testimonies and meet their brothers and sisters in Christ. We also want the LGBTQ community to know they are welcome and we would love to have them join us in worship and to hear these individuals’ amazing stories!”

McCall says he got the idea for Freedom March in September of 2017.

“I had this idea to gather former LGBTQ community members to an event in D.C. to share their amazing testimonies,” McCall says. “So many people have stories similar to mine, where they had encounters with God and left their old identities to embrace what God says about them. It was soon after getting this idea the Lord brought amazing people into my life who helped carry out the event.

“My board of M.J. Nixon, Kim Zember, Angel Colon and Luis Ruiz have been absolutely vital to Freedom March’s growth and impact,” he adds. “I love how this ministry is about many former LGBTQ and many former LGBTQ organizations uniting together for the common goal of showing people Jesus Christ’s love. We are much stronger together than we are divided.”
