Opening with “Freedom Is Here” the band speaks of the life and freedom we experience as we lift up Jesus. The album really gets to rocking on “More Than Anything,” which speaks of how we find life when we give everything to Jesus.
Several ballads will strike a special chord with listeners. Title track “Tear Down the Walls,” with Joel Houston and Matt Crocker on lead vocals, is a cry of revival: “Oh, for all the sons and daughters / Who are walking in the darkness / You are calling us to lead them back to You / We will see Your Spirit rising / As the lost come out of hiding / Every heart will see this hope we have in You.” Brooke Ligertwood wrote and sings “Desert Song” and declares no matter what we are facing, we have a reason to sing and to worship. Her unique voice will continue to encourage listeners to whole-heartedly worship the Lord.
Hillsong United continue to usher crowds into the presence of God with energetic, faith-buildings songs. Fans will be so glad to hear them again—hoping they don’t wait another three years for the next album.
