Christian music artist Lecrae is rejoicing over his daughter’s decision to follow Jesus and be baptized.
In a post on Instagram, Lecrae shared a video of his daughter getting baptized and receiving her certificate sharing the good news.
“Today, my daughter publicly declared her decision to follow Christ, and it’s just now hitting me,” he writes.

I’m overwhelmed with emotion, (Dad is crying) reflecting on God’s goodness and faithfulness. As parents, we long for our children’s physical well-being, but more than that, I’ve prayed for their hearts to know and love God.
The music mogul also made the point that he did his part of sharing the gospel with her, knowing that only God can truly change what’s in our hearts.
I’d sit at breakfast reading the Bible, sharing the gospel, and pointing her to Him, knowing I can’t change my baby girl’s heart—only God can. All I could do was serve, pray and trust in His timing. And He’s faithful!!! I’m beyond grateful because my heavenly Father is far greater than I could ever be. I LOVE YOU Maya! Thank You Jesus!
This good news from Lecrae comes right after Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards’ daughter, Lola Sheen, also decided to get baptized after making the decision to follow Jesus.
“Jesus met me exactly where I was, and He forever became my sun. I began to trust Jesus with my life, when He chose me when no one else did, and loved me when I didn’t feel worthy of love. He gave me a light when I couldn’t find my own and rescued me from the darkness,” Sheen wrote on Instagram, sharing her own baptism experience.
As we see revival happening across school campuses, it’s also refreshing to see this hunger for the gospel take center stage for the young people who have grown up in the public eye. Let’s pray for an outbreak of revival to come to all people, including those in the spotlight.
