Osbourne had been battling multiple health issues in recent years, including Parkinson’s disease and spinal injuries that forced him to cancel tour dates.

Complex Relationship With Faith

Though often criticized for dark themes in his lyrics and stage performances, including accusations of promoting occultism, Osbourne repeatedly distanced himself from such claims and professed belief in God.

“I’m a Christian. I was christened as a Christian. I used to go to Sunday school,” he said in a 2014 interview with The Guardian. He also told The New York Times in 1992 that he was “a practicing member of the Church of England” and prayed before every concert.

Despite these comments, Osbourne’s lyrics and image often clashed with traditional Christian values. He acknowledged this tension, once stating, “I am not a devil-worshipper. I have never been involved in black magic,” in an attempt to correct the public narrative surrounding his persona.

While Osbourne’s expressions of faith were sincere to him, they were viewed by many as inconsistent with his music and onstage theatrics. His beliefs remained personal and complicated, mirroring a career that was equally chaotic and legendary.

    1. I agree
Obviously his music and stage personna showed no indication of this but I do believe that Ozzy had a relationship with God in his own way.

    2. Ozzy was a performer and very good at it! His kind spirit and gentleness is a fruit of being a Christian. May he rest peacefully! Praying for his family and friends.

    3. I loved getting to know him through his tv show. Anybody with half an ounce of sense could see how humble, loving, caring and generous he was!!! He’s jammin with Hendrix, Stevie, Eddie and others, on a Heavenly plane of existence!!! Thank you Ozzy, RIP Rip In Paradise!!! ♥️🙏

    4. But did he acknowledge Jesus as his Savior ? Bible says only way to God is through Jesus-was Ozzy Born Again ?

    5. Does that mean Ozzy was a disciple of Jesus? I like to think that, between the lines, he stood for the light, for the Kingdom of God, for Jesus. God might have used him to drop question marks into people’s hearts, right in the middle of darkness, so they’d start searching, asking, even questioning the paths they once chose. That’s often how change begins.

  1. We have no right to judge Ozzy, if he said he was a Christian then leave it at that.
There was something about him that was humble, you could see it in his songs.
Do you call a fat preacher a glutton? So, why do you judge Ozzy? James 4:12.
If Ozzy said he had a relationship with God, then he did. We humans always want to judge everyone,
look at him or her, not look at their soul. Sure, Ozzy made millions, what would each of you do if you had a voice like his? He also obviously cared for his family.
The question to you, the one reading this comment is do you know Jesus as Lord and Savior of your life today? Forget religion, start studying the Holy Spirit penned word of God. The bible.
Start in Romans. Good luck to you all and may Ozzy rest in peace.
