Fear and uncertainty mount as dark spiritual forces remain at work in the days leading up to next week’s election, causing concern among many faith communities.
Among the most recent are plotted witchcraft attacks against the president.
But believers across the nation have stepped up in faith to declare God’s will over the coming election and pray against the forces of evil seeking to cover America in evil and sin.
In fact, many prayer marches, gatherings, days of prayer and prayer events have been in effect since as far back as 50 days before the election.
One group, started by Lou Engle, Lance Wallnau and Dutch Sheets among others, is holding a prayer event that started on Sept. 30 and continues to Election Day. The “As One” initiative focuses on “uniting as one in Christ Jesus, appealing to heaven to change the spiritual climate of our nation.” Through a commitment to intercession leading up to just days before the election, As One seeks to prayer-walk every street and every zip code.
Likewise, Rev. Jim Wallis has called the nation to join his fellow Black clergy in a time of prayer and fasting, in what he told Religion News Service is a time to “bombard heaven with our petitions, trusting and believing that God will hear our cries and answer our call for justice, mercy and a fair and safe election.”
And more fasts and marches are still to come. Intercessors for America has scheduled an Esther Fast for the weekend before the election. The event’s online mission statement reads: “We will enter into our time of humility, repentance and intercession at sundown on Saturday, Oct. 31 (Halloween) as the world begins its celebration of all that is evil, dark and unholy. But we will conclude our fast at sundown on Tuesday, Nov. 3 (Election Day) with the hope and expectation of the dawning of a new day.”
These events and strong members of the faith have duly ensured the election is covered in prayer, and no matter the outcome, prove believers are standing strong against the dark forces trying to taint the election with fear and evil motives. {eoa}
