But a special man is in town. Jones, as he prefers to be called, is a simple guy with his signature blue jeans, white T-shirt, leather flip-flops and old suitcase. But he’s also an enigma, as proven by his frequent appearances out of nowhere and his omniscient-like knowledge of people’s private lives. Jones just says he notices what others miss. He simply offers his friendship … and a little perspective. Others wonder just who this man is.
As the story progresses, the mysterious Jones helps a young man get on the right track for life. Another couple’s marriage is saved as he helps each spouse walk a mile in the other spouse’s shoe. A widow is encouraged to know her life has made a difference. An unethical young businessman realizes how to make things right after Jones befriends and confronts him. While Jones is “best friends” with every character in the book, readers will undoubtedly wish he were real.
Andrew tells the story at a good pace, and readers will stay intrigued and wish the book would never end. Although The Noticer is a simple, quick read, the message certainly isn’t.
