Gabe Poirot, a social media evangelist with over two million YouTube subscribers, survived a life-threatening accident and experienced a miraculous recovery that he attributes to divine intervention.
His story began on Oct. 25, 2021, when a fall from an electric skateboard nearly cost him his life. “I was riding an electric skateboard without a helmet,” Poirot recounted. “I hit a bump in the road and fell directly on my head.”
Poirot’s injuries were severe. He sustained a fractured skull, a failing lung and was in a coma, with doctors uncertain of his survival. “My skull was under so much pressure that it almost cracked wide open from the inside,” he said. Poirot’s condition was so dire that his family was summoned from Virginia, and medical staff prepared for the worst, even asking if he had written a will.

Just as doctors were about to take drastic measures, a sudden turn occurred. Poirot recalled, “The Spirit of the Lord woke me up.” Remarkably, he emerged from the coma and began a rapid recovery. “It wasn’t just me coming out of the coma that was miraculous,” he said. “My memory was downloaded back into my brain over the course of a couple days.” Within weeks, Poirot was able to leave the hospital and resume his life.
Before the accident, Poirot was already a dedicated Christian, a biblical studies major at a college in Texas and running a YouTube channel focused on evangelism. His near-death experience, however, profoundly deepened his faith. “I wake up every day and thank the Lord for how He brought me through,” he says. “It is a testimony like no other.”
Following his recovery, Poirot only intensified his evangelistic efforts. Through his social media platforms, he has reached over 300 million views and facilitated more than 70,000 salvations. “It’s not about views; it’s about finding an audience you’re talking to,” Poirot explained. He emphasizes authenticity and connecting with people on a personal level, which he believes is key to effective communication and spreading the Gospel.
Poirot’s message is clear: “God has a purpose and a plan for you,” he says. “We are perfectly programmed and destined to be in this world right now to bring life and shift what’s around us.” His story and outreach continue to inspire many, demonstrating the profound impact of faith and resilience in the face of adversity.
