What do you really believe? It is the truth you know, understand and live by that will set you free!
Many will be deceived in the last days. Truth and lies will come not just from the media and politics but from the church. Timothy warns us, “For the time will come when people will not endure sound doctrine, but they will gather to themselves teachers in accordance with their own desires, having itching ears, and they will turn their ears away from the truth and turn to myths” (2 Tim. 4:3-4). Teaching will be filled with seducing spirits and doctrines of demons. Sermons will be crafted by the opinions of men and not directly taken from the Word of God. Messages will be more about the culture of the day and being politically correct than infused by the Holy Spirit.
The scoffers of the end times, Peter says, will come from everywhere, including self-professed followers of Jesus. You and I are students of God’s Word and able to rightly divide the word of truth. We need to be able to separate what is false from what is true, what is a denominational doctrine and what is the Word of God written and inspired by the Holy Spirit. Deception is one of the oldest strategies that started in the Garden of Eden when Satan deceived Eve. The Bible teaches we are to beware of the wiles and strategies of the devil because he is extremely shrewd and masquerades as an angel of light (2 Cor. 11:14). Matthew charges us to “Take heed that no man deceive you”(Matt. 24:4b). It’s time to make sure that you and I have our minds renewed to the truth of God’s Word and our lives firmly planted on the solid rock of Jesus Christ. Only then we’ll be found faithful when He returns.
