Erick Stakelbeck, host of The Watchman Newscast, recently cast doubt on the durability of the newly brokered ceasefire between Israel and Iran, warning viewers that Iran had already violated the agreement hours after it went into effect.
“Iran broke it earlier today,” Stakelbeck said. “Iran launched two missiles at northern Israel. Now thankfully they didn’t hit anything.” He added that just before the ceasefire, “four Israelis were killed in that last gasp before the ceasefire by the Iranian regime.”

Stakelbeck described the Iranian leadership as “pure evil,” adding, “This regime, and intentionally targeting civilian men, women, children—that’s what Iran does. That’s what the Iranian regime, I should say, not the Iranian people, the tyrannical government… that’s who they are, it’s what they do.”
Though Israel responded with airstrikes, President Trump urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to hold back. “President Trump gets on the horn with Bibi Netanyahu and says, ‘Don’t do it. Don’t carry out the attack. I want the ceasefire to hold.’ So Bibi says, ‘Well, the planes are already in the air.’”
As tensions remain high, Stakelbeck raised prophetic concerns. “The ring of fire that axis of terror proxies that surrounded Israel is now a smoldering heap of ruins, folks,” he said. “Iran’s nuclear program, smashed. Missile capabilities, massively set back. Several key regime military officials killed. Nuclear scientists killed. They’re in bad shape.”
Stakelbeck believes Iran will look to form closer alliances with nuclear powers. “Russia, China and Turkey in particular, folks, and North Korea of course, look for them to fill the void. Look for Iran to run more and more into the arms of nuclear-armed nation states.”
He warned of another threat: sleeper cells. “Some 1,200 Iranian citizens entered the United States illegally during the Biden regime over the past four years and I don’t know that we know where they are,” he said, citing former Attorney General Pam Bondi’s congressional testimony.
Turning to biblical prophecy, Stakelbeck said, “You can see it lining up, Russia and Iran coming closer together, Turkey as well… Those seem to be the big three players in that Ezekiel invasion force which is laid out in the book of Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39.”

Stakelbeck concluded with encouragement for viewers. “God Almighty is on the throne. He’s in control. And I feel like we are moving into some good days here, for sure for Israel, for the United States.”
