What in the world is happening? It is scary how quickly life is changing and our freedoms are being snatched away. I have been praying, warring for God’s intervention, and the Lord reminded me of Daniel who was taken into captivity and placed under the rule of an evil king. As you follow Daniel’s life, we discover he spend quality time learning how to live under captivity with staying true to his God. He entered a strategic time of intimacy with God for guidance. I think we are in a season of doing the same—walking in intimacy so that we live productively, despite the rules and burdens placed upon us.
Daniel was confined by the laws of the king, kept in bondage and limited in many ways: yet he was given wisdom and knowledge to circumvent or outwit the plans of the enemy. God knew exactly what he needed in order to survive and succeed while in captivity. He knows exactly what we need right now for our survival and success.
Instead of agreeing with the spirit of fear, we must seek God for wisdom and knowledge so we too can outwit the plans of the enemy. We each have specific assignments as we go through this season under this rule. God is not punishing us but refining us to step up just as he did Daniel.
