Shawn Bolz says it’s important to remember that breakthrough is more than just a common Christian truism or a “fad word.” In fact, in a recent video, he says that breakthrough is more than just God’s deliverance or gift to us—God Himself is breakthrough.
“One of God’s names in the Bible is breakthrough,” Bolz says. “Like, this is not just a fad word. This is actually part of who God is. … You find God in several places as being referred to as breakthrough, and not only ‘breakthrough from,’ but ‘breakthrough into.’ A lot of times we apply this phrase for what we need from God as opposed to what He wants to give to us. God is way more concerned with breakthrough than you are. It’s one of the ways that He identifies Himself to the body of Christ, so we can actually access Him differently and actually know Him this way.”
Because of that, Bolz says, “Your breakthrough actually equals breakthrough for everybody around you.”
