“Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves,” (Matt. 7:15).
These words of Jesus feel like they were said for the days we live in.
The self-proclaimed “prophet” and former head of Floodgates of Heaven International Ministries, Sylvester Ofori, who shot and killed his wife, Barbara Tommey, in broad daylight outside of a Navy Federal Credit Union in Orlando, Florida, in September of 2020 has finally learned his fate for the heinous crime.
Ofori was sentenced to life in prison after being found guilty of first degree murder.

According to eyewitness accounts, Ofori shot his wife in front of the credit union multiple times, showing no remorse for the actions and fled in a rented Dodge Journey.
Tommey was pronounced dead at Orlando Regional Medical Center.
The investigation led to detectives learning that Ofori had been abusing Tommey, and had even been in a physical fight with her brother and other family members when they found out he was abusing her. It was during this altercation he told them he was going to kill his wife.
“Can I promise you something? If I don’t kill your sister, then I am fake,” Ofori said in a video posted on Facebook.
Tommey’s brother implored her to call the police and press charges against Ofori, but she refused citing that it would only further escalate the situation.
Jesus teaches us that we can identify these false prophets and teachers who claim to be men and women of God, but are instead servants of Satan.
“You will know them by their fruit. Do men gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit. But a corrupt tree bears evil fruit. A good tree cannot bear evil fruit, nor can a corrupt tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore, by their fruit you will know them,” (Matt. 7:16-20).
