According to Deadline, the finale of season 6 will hit theaters as a movie on Mar. 12, 2027. This release will come from Amazon MGM Studios and 5&2 Studios. Season 7, which will start off with a “feature film depicting the resurrection of Jesus,” will then land in theaters on Mar. 31, 2028.
This comes right as The Chosen star, Jonathan Roumie, gave a sneak peek into what it has been like training for the crucifixion scene in season 6.
“I’ve been training specifically for this season, and so there’s been a lot of self-sacrifice in order to bring my idea of how I want Jesus to feel and look for season 6,” says Roumie. “Pray that I get out of my own way and allow God to just continue to lead me forward.”
As The Chosen marches toward its most climactic moments, the momentum behind the series shows no signs of slowing down. Captivating audiences on both the silver screen and through streaming, each installment of The Chosen draws crowds deeper into the life of Jesus, building anticipation for the profound events that will shape the heart of the gospel narrative.
