Now that the Trump administration has been in place for 100 days, one of the key changes his administration has made is the implementation of the Department of Government Efficiency, DOGE, which has become known for slashing wasteful spending that was hidden in multiple areas of the government.

In an interview with Fox News’ Jesse Watters, DOGE leader Elon Musk said that the changes have only begun.
“It’s a long-term enterprise…because if we take our eye off the ball, the waste and fraud will come roaring back.”
One of the biggest areas where DOGE slashed spending was through USAID, which including spending on anything from the Islamic Relief Agency and an espionage program in Cuba. Even the Lutheran Church was uncovered at this time in believed money laundering through USAID.
Along with this spending slash, DOGE also ended millions of DEI contracts part of the federal government. Unlike previous administrations, Trump and Musk have made it clear that there’s no playing around with them; justice will be adequately served, including in our finances.

As believers, we understand that stewardship is not just a political principle—it’s a biblical one. The Bible teaches us to be faithful with what we’ve been given (Luke 16:10), and that includes the resources entrusted to leaders and governments. The efforts of DOGE to cut through layers of wasteful and potentially corrupt spending echo the call for accountability and wise management that Scripture upholds.
While political measures will never fully solve the brokenness of our world, they can pave the way for greater righteousness and justice when aligned with godly principles. As the DOGE initiative enters its next phase, let us remain vigilant and prayerful, asking God to guide our leaders with wisdom and courage.
