By all accounts, the long-simmering conflict between Israel and Iran has reached a new and dangerous chapter.
Early Friday, Israel struck deep within Iranian territory, targeting key nuclear and military sites in what it called a necessary preemptive move to halt Iran’s march toward atomic capability.

In response, Iran launched over 100 ballistic missiles at Israel, with multiple impacts reported in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. Sirens blared, families rushed to shelters and the world watched a potential regional war begin to unfold.

Jerusalem trembled under the sound of explosions, and Tel Aviv’s skyline was marred by plumes of smoke.
