Parker was upstairs with his grandmother when he noticed the smell and initially thought it was just his younger brothers, aged one and two, playing after a nap. But when he heard crackling noises and saw black smoke billowing from the basement, he immediately shouted “Fire!” and rushed to rescue his baby brothers.
According to Petersburg Fire Rescue and Emergency Services, Parker quickly carried the toddlers out and helped evacuate the rest of his family before firefighters arrived.
“As glass shattered and the heat intensified, this young boy kept his composure and got his family to safety,” officials said. “Ramir saved lives today. His quick thinking and selfless bravery are nothing short of heroic.”
