In a report by ABC 7, more eyewitnesses captured the unbelievable flooding on camera near 23rd Street and 28th Street on the line for the number one train. Footage showed water entering the subway car with people aboard.
New Jersey also experienced heavy flooding, leaving cars to drive in feet of water. The rushing flood waters closed down major roads like the New Jersey Turnpike, according to Times Now News. Governor Phil Murphy announced a state of emergency due to the seriousness of the situation.
I am declaring a State of Emergency given flash flooding and high levels of rainfall in parts of the state.
Please stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel. Stay safe, New Jersey.
