Is the White House becoming more and more of a house of prayer?

During the White House Easter prayer service and dinner, Paula White-Cain, Franklin Graham and Jentezen Franklin delivered impactful messages of hope. However, it was the president himself who showed a great faith transformation as he talked about the miraculous power of Holy Week.

“Three days later, Christ followers found the empty tomb,” Trump proclaimed. “Jesus had defeated darkness and death and promised new life to all of humankind.” That message, he said, is “what we celebrate each year at Easter, as we joyfully proclaim on Sunday, He is risen.”

Underscoring the foundation of Christianity, he added, “The death and resurrection of Jesus are the essence of the Christian faith. Whether rich or poor, healthy or sick, young or old, or in times of peace or war, Christians everywhere find solace and hope in the knowledge that Christ died for them and that they could be united with Him in heaven.”

He went on to reflect on the transforming power of Holy Week, stating, “The miracles of Holy Week set in motion a transformation in human existence.”

Trump also noted that Christians are inspired to do as Jesus did: healing the sick and defending their families. Following his remarks on the Gospel, Trump touched on the nation’s progress and direction: “We’re restoring our prosperity, securing our borders, we’re rebuilding the U.S. military… I did it once, now I’m going to do it again and even more so.”

With a focus on protecting believers, he declared, “We’re standing up for persecuted Christians… and defending religious liberty. We had nobody fighting for Christians in other parts of the world.”

He also highlighted the creation of a White House Faith Office and a DOJ task force “to eradicate anti-Christian bias. And there is anti-Christian [bias]—you don’t hear about that very much.”

As we reflect on the meaning of Easter and the power of Christ’s Resurrection, this message serves as both a call to faith and a rallying cry for the soul of a nation. We are reminded that America’s strength has always been rooted in its trust in God—and it is in that trust we find our hope, our courage and our future.
