As global events unfold with increasing intensity, many believers are recognizing that what God foretold in Scripture is coming to pass. This is not a time for fear but for faith and encouragement. Rabbi and “New York Times” best-selling author, Jonathan Cahn, discusses what believers can expect to come next on the prophetic timeline, and how we are seeing prophecies of old come to pass today.

Prophetic Signs in Motion

Jesus warned in Matthew 24 of great tribulation unlike anything the world has seen. He spoke of wars, rumors of wars, famines, earthquakes and celestial disturbances—many of which align with the prophetic imagery in the book of Revelation.

Cahn often speaks about the patterns of divine judgment and restoration, particularly in relation to world events. He has often spoken about the Harbinger warnings and the cycles of the Shemitah and Jubilee years, indicating that God’s timeline is unfolding in alignment with prophetic patterns seen throughout history.

Divine Timing in History

Many historical events align precisely with biblical prophecy, revealing God’s divine orchestration. The American elections, particularly Donald Trump’s election in 2016 and his re-election in 2024, are seen by many as part of God’s plan. Additionally, Israel’s reestablishment as a nation in 1948 was a fulfillment of ancient prophecies, signifying the beginning of the final prophetic countdown. This is because Leviticus 25 declares that people shall return to their ancestral land. Remarkably, the Hebrew numerical value of “you shall return” (Tashu) is 1948—the very year Israel was reestablished as a nation.

A Time of Great Shaking

In biblical times, any celestial light was considered a star, including meteors and comets. Cahn suggest these descriptions could even include modern nuclear warfare, as John’s vision saw fiery destruction falling upon the earth. The word for “heavens” in Matthew 24 is ouranos, from which the term uranium derives—possibly hinting at nuclear events.

“Uranium is the source of atomic destruction,” Cahn says. ” You could say the powers of uranium being shaken cause nuclear destruction. I’m not saying this is the first meaning of it but it could be a layer of that.”

The Great Falling Away and the Rise of Darkness

The Bible warns of a great apostasy before the Lord’s return. This falling away is evident in today’s world, where Western nations once steeped in Christian faith are rapidly abandoning biblical truth. Statistics show a steady decline in those identifying as Christians, particularly among younger generations. Yet, even amid this, the gospel will continue to be preached to all nations, and God will pour out His Spirit in the last days.

Let us stand in faith, knowing that no matter how dark the days ahead may seem, God is in control and His ultimate plan is one of triumph. The King is coming, and His people must be ready.
