Empowered21 Appoints New Director to Lead Spirit-Filled Movement

Rev. Caleb Wehrli

Empowered21 is pleased to announce the appointment of Rev. Caleb Wehrli as executive director. Wehrli has most recently been serving as the Empowered21 assistant director, and has been involved with E21 since the first conversations that led to the formation of this global initiative. He also served on the E21 Asia Cabinet for several years.

“I am beyond excited and honored to be moving into this role,” said Wehrli. “I have carried the mission of Empowered21 in my heart for years, and I look forward to a seamless transition as we continue reaching people with the message of Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Wehrli has ministered in over 55 different countries during the past 20 years and enjoys seeing kingdom-minded leaders come together in fulfilling Christ’s mandate of reaching every person on earth through the power of the Holy Spirit. He and his wife, Sarah, both graduates of Oral Roberts University, served in ministry and leadership at Victory Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, as well as founding Victory Orlando three years ago. They previously lived in Hong Kong as missionaries, organizing various projects across Asia. Wehrli is known as a kingdom leader, mobilizer and a relationally gifted visionary.

“I am very excited about Caleb moving into this new role with Empowered21,” said Billy Wilson, Global Co-Chair of E21. “Caleb is perfectly poised to have an immediate impact with all of our Spirit-empowered partners. Ossie Mills did a good job for us in this role, and he will be in our prayers as he pursues new ventures outside of E21 and ORU. We are now doing what Empowered21 is all about… “Empowering a New Generation” of leaders. Caleb will represent that new generation well in serving the over 680 million Spirit-empowered believers around the world through the E21 network.”

As executive director, Wehrli will serve the Global Council, the 14 regional cabinets and the other Empowered21 initiatives including a Scholar’s Consultation, a Discipleship Task Force, a Next Gen Leaders network and the new Global Evangelists Alliance. Wehrli will also be on point to organize and mobilize for the next Empowered21 Global Congress to be held May 31-June 3, 2020, in Jerusalem, Israel.

Wilson concluded his comments by stating: “The best days for Empowered21 are ahead of us as we unite across the Spirit-empowered movement to reach the world for Jesus Christ in our generation.”
