Has a prophecy by William Branham about an American pope just come to pass?
Branham, whose prophetic words have spoken to people for generations, had an intriguing prophecy that related an end times American Pope and what would happen next in the global church.

In this prophecy, Branham said the following:
I believe one of these glorious days, when this united confederation of church goes together, and the new pope is brought out of the United States, and put over there according to prophecy, then they’ll form an image like unto the beast. And I tell you, the true church of God will be drove together.
This is quite terrifying when you think about it. As we’ve seen the signs of the end times all around us, could the rise of this American pope be a signal that we are about to see greater tribulations?

The real, true believers out of Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian, Pentecostal, Nazarene, Pilgrim Holiness, whatever they’ll be, will go together, and cemented by the love of God, that’ll make the Body of the Lord Jesus, all the believers, and agnostics and shallow-minded will be cast to one side; they’ll go right on into the confederation of churches.
Economically, we see global instability, inflation and the rise of digital currencies—all potential tools for controlling commerce as foreshadowed in Revelation 13. Politically, nations are growing more hostile to biblical truth, aligning in ways that echo end-times alliances.
Within the church, we are seeing a painful but prophetic division. As Branham warned, the true believers are being “drove together” not by convenience, but by conviction. Lines are being drawn as churches compromise to stay culturally relevant, while remnant believers cling to the truth of God’s Word.

Could Branham’s prophecy already be coming to pass? If so, it is not a moment for fear, but for clarity. The shaking of the systems around us is pushing the true church to stand firm, united in Christ and ready for His return. Now is the time to be watchful, grounded in the Word, and led by the Spirit.
