In an article by Religion Unplugged, it was discussed how the number of Americans “identifying as Christian has stopped its long-term decline, holding steady at 62%.”

Within the study, it was discovered how 40% of these self-identifying Christians are Protestant, 19% Catholic, while 3% more are in other denominations. However, we are not currently on the path of seeing an overall comeback for religion as more people openly embrace “spirituality.”
With young adults being more open to the spiritual realm in general, we should pray and use this as an opportunity to see these people experience a true move of the Holy Spirit. With an interest in the growing Orthodox Christian faiths, especially among young men, perhaps there is a craving for a type of routine and structure that can also provide comfort for the soul without feeling like an enclosed space.
If we want to experience a revival from the Holy Spirit in our nation, we must find ways to engage with those at all points in their walk of faith. College campuses are becoming epicenters of renewal, with students experiencing salvations, baptisms and worship gatherings. This movement is shifting faith from traditional institutions to organic, community-driven expressions, emphasizing a deep, personal encounter with God.
