In his powerful message, “Revelation, The Seven Lampstands, & The Secrets Of Victory,” Jonathan Cahn opens the book of Revelation by unveiling a profound truth: Christ must be at the center of His people.
Preaching from Revelation 1, Cahn challenges believers not to focus on the structure—the lampstand—but on the One who is the Light.

“Many churches have left Him being the middle,” Cahn warns. “They exist as empty houses, empty lampstands, lamps with no light coming out.” Revelation begins with John hearing a voice and turning to see seven golden lampstands—symbols of the seven churches. But these are no ordinary lamps; they are rooted in the sacred imagery of the temple menorah, first revealed in Exodus 25. Seven golden branches, hammered from pure gold, filled with oil—representing the Spirit—burning in the darkness of the holy place.

Cahn notes that Revelation, like Genesis, begins with light. “The first chapter of the Bible, God says, ‘Let there be light.’ The last chapter of the Bible, God is the light.” The vision of the lampstands reveals that even amid darkness and judgment, the destiny of God’s people ends in light.
At the center of these lampstands stands “one like a Son of Man,” clothed in a robe, with a golden sash—Messiah Himself. “In the middle of the lamps is Messiah,” Cahn declares. “You can’t do this thing called Christianity without the Christ. It’s His life. The only way you can live it is with His presence.”
This central vision of Christ among the churches reminds believers that He is not distant or detached. He walks among His people. The seven stars in His hand, Cahn explains, are the “angels” or “messengers” of the churches. They signify divine authority and protection over God’s people.
Yet the heart of the message is this: Jesus must remain in the center. “If He’s not in the middle, we cannot be the light,” says Cahn. “You can even lose Him in the lampstand if you focus on the lampstand instead of Him.” Ministries, works, even good intentions—if done without Him—will lack power.

Revelation begins not with destruction, but with a promise: “I am with you.” Before the seals, trumpets and judgments come, the Lord reveals His position—walking among His people. “Your ministry is not your responsibility,” Cahn concludes. “It’s His. You just have to be faithful. He will do the rest.”
In a world of increasing darkness, Revelation reminds us: the Light still shines, and He is in our midst.
