Where is God in the times of life’s storms? God is ever present, but there are times when we feel we can’t find Him. God is a refuge and awaits our pursuit of Him for His protection and shelter through the storm.
Hiding in God is necessary in stormy seasons. When things are raging all around you, and you feel you can’t stabilize your life for fear of the unknown, God wants you to hide in Him.
Dr. Sharon Mancha of the podcast The Power of Intimacy With Christ on the Charisma Podcast Network is passionate about sharing how to discern the presence of God and how to make passage to Him in difficult seasons. She has been through difficult seasons that have informed her understanding of the importance of hiding in God. “The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe” (Prov. 18:10, KJV).
Mancha proclaims that when we rest in God, we find hope, strength and confidence to wait out the storm while we deepen our relationship with Him. “I know that relationship with God empowers the whole life and provides a solid foundation for understanding and successfully engaging the world around us,” she says. She sees that relationship with God is the key to surviving life’s challenges and not be sifted. He is the stabilizer of our soul, empowering our lives.
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea” (Ps. 46:1-2).
An open and intentional response to the love of God leads to the abundant life promised in Scripture for those who will dare to connect to Him for life supply. He is our resource for ultimate life experience.
