For anyone feeling stuck in a season of drought, Uys pointed to the promise of God in Joel 2:23-27, reading, “He sends you abundant showers, both autumn and spring rains, as before. The threshing floors will be filled with grain. The vats will overflow with new wine and oil. I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten…
“Never again will my people be ashamed,” Uys emphasizes, repeating the promise from the passage. “This barren season will come to an end because the rain is coming.”
And yet, Uys offered a word of preparation and action. “Do not sit with idle hands. In Afrikaans, we have a saying: do not sit on your hands. You have to keep them busy.” He encouraged viewers to “prepare your fields for the rain as if it is coming tomorrow.”
The moment of breakthrough, Uys reminds his audience, is not just for personal relief but for the glory of God. “Now when your rain is coming on the barren fields, do not be quiet about it. Testify about it.”

Uys closed with compassion for those facing deep struggles, offering prayer and pointing to the only One who can truly satisfy: “They need the rain of the Holy Spirit. Nothing else can fix it. Nothing else can quench that thirst but the Holy Spirit, but Jesus pouring down upon their life.”
