“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Spirit” (Rom. 15:13).
On this episode of Christ Today on the Charisma Podcast Network, host David Bryant says this verse from Romans highlights one characteristic of the next great awakening.
Bryant says “God’s people are starting to experience a hope that goes beyond anything they’ve known before, something that could be called by nothing less than an abounding hope.”
It is in this abounding hope that we find out “this is who Jesus is right now. The Jesus of the end is the Jesus on the throne. And He’s the Jesus with whom we are in fellowship right now.” Because of our abounding hope we recognize, “He’s the Jesus who walks among His people … and our whole life needs to be lived in Him with that realization.
“We’re just barely touching the hem of the garment of what He really is, who He is, how He is.” But Bryant says we should all “want to go further, we want to go deeper, we want to see more.”
