Feeling Overwhelmed? Remind Yourself of These Biblical Truths

From the beginning of the year, God has been telling me to focus on Him to keep my mind from absorbing things that aren’t His direction and instruction for my life. It’s unsettling to experience shifting and changes. It is easy to lose our peace and begin to anxiously look around for something to land on. I admit, I have listened to some video messages lately, trying to find out what is going on since Big Tech has blocked our former president and credible voices who fight for justice from their media platforms.

There are lots of things going on right now. If we keep chasing all of the information coming out, whether it be conspiracy theories or prophetic words, it can cause us to become more confused. We cannot deny that people have prayed, are praying and will continue to pray; God has answered, is answering and will continue to answer our prayers. There is a much, much bigger picture involved than just this election. God has designed a plan for His kingdom and His kids, and He is the way-maker where it looks like there isn’t any way for us to proceed.

Ultimately, we are growing up in our faith, our walk with God and our ability to make calculated decisions based on His Word instead of from our emotions. We know these things:

1) God will never leave us or forsake us. (See Deut. 31:6.)

2) God is an ever present help in times of trouble. (See Ps. 46:1.)

3) God is the author and finisher of our faith. (See Heb. 12:2.)

4) God fights the battle for us. (See Ex. 14:14.)

5) God always gives us the victory. (See 2 Cor. 2:14.)

6) The Prince of Peace, literally powders Satan beneath our feet. (See Rom. 16:20.)

7) God has given us all authority and power over all things to pull down and bind up, to loose and release. (See Matt. 18:18.)

Basically, it’s time to grow up, stand up, fight the good fight of faith and watch God hand us the victory over every battle we are facing. So many times in the Bible, God says, “if you do this, I will do that.” Often the action and promises of God are conditional, depending on our obedience to what He tells us to do.

The days ahead will surely be uncertain. But God isn’t uncertain, and we are complete in Him. “I will go before you and make the crooked places straight,” He says in the first part of Isaiah 45:2.
