Prayers continue to flow for longtime Christian singer-songwriter Carman Licciardello, popularly known by his first name, who was admitted to the hospital last week for a minor surgery and has since developed complications.
After celebrating his 65th birthday in the hospital on Jan. 19, Carman shared the details of his illness.
“Today I’m in the hospital, I was getting a hiatal hernia removed yesterday. But it turned into a near fatal scenario. For some reason, no one knows why, my blood pressure dropped to 66/43 and kept falling. It’s usually 135/89. I woke up from the anesthesia and saw 9 doctors and nurses standing around my bed buzzing about, deeply concerned. They worked for hours to get it going the other way.”
He expressed his gratitude for the “prayer warriors” who interceded on his behalf. “Thank you once again for your faithfulness. I say it often from the stage, I don’t have fans, I have intercessors and I have no doubt you keep me alive,” he said.
An urgent prayer request for him was posted to the singer’s Facebook page on Monday.
Doctors had to perform a second surgery to fix the internal bleeding, leaving Carman with pneumonia and problems with his kidney and liver function.
The Facebook update urged believers to pray for “a touch from the Lord” and “complete healing for Carman.”
Intercession is flooding in on social media for the beloved artist. A Facebook group called “Prayers for Carman Licciardello” shared the update on his health, and God’s warriors got to work.
One Facebook user commented, “Father we come boldly to Your Throne of Grace and ask for your Mercy for the healing of Carman. He is your child and you love him so much as do we. He has brought love and hope to the Body of Christ in your name and we are asking for another miracle for him. In Jesus’ Name.”
Another reads, “Please Lord, help him and keep him going. We place him in your hands for a proper healing!”
Carman’s fans are no strangers to praying for, rejoicing with and mourning alongside the musician, after his several battles with cancer over the years. But in the face of it all, Carman holds fast to his unshakeable faith and resolve to not let the devil have the last word in his life. {eoa}
