Preston and Becky Jones have learned that true transformation cannot happen without prayer. A recent episode of The Prayer Room on the Charisma Podcast Network will encourage you, and maybe convict you, to truly step back and evaluate how much time you spend with God.
Becky says her journey to spending more time with God was birthed from one simple principle: going back to the prayer room.
She says this is where she has learned that God “will keep you humble. It’ll keep you connected to His heart and His rhythm in the earth. It will keep you grounded to where you’re not being moved by the culture of the world, the media of the world.”
In this place, Preston learned that “your decisions to follow Him should cost you something.” Perhaps it’s giving up Netflix and chill time or sacrificing an hour of sleep. But, “the more time that you spend with Him, the more power you’re going to have in the Spirit. And this is why we have a lot of weak people, because we don’t spend time with Him.”
Through the time Becky spends in communion with God, she says, “You know, there moments where I will step into places or go places and the Lord, I [can] just hear Him and feel Him so loud and clear. And it’s because of the time. I just know Him in a different way because I’ve spent time with Him.”
